Independent · Not a HubSpot partner
Before you sign · 6-question quiz

Buying HubSpot for the first time? You're probably about to overbuy it.

We're an independent group of marketers and RevOps operators. We've scoped, negotiated and implemented CRM contracts for clients at agencies across the industry — and we've watched most first-time buyers sign for more HubSpot than their stage of business needed, at a price nobody told them was movable.

Answer six questions before your quote turns into a contract. You'll see whether you qualify to have HubSpot's onboarding fee — $1,500 to $7,000 — delivered by a partner agency instead, plus an itemized estimate of what the rest should actually cost.

Who we are

We're not a HubSpot partner. That's exactly the point.

CRMdiscount.ai is an independent consortium of marketers, RevOps leads and agency operators. We are not a HubSpot Solutions Partner, not a reseller, not certified by HubSpot, and not affiliated with or endorsed by HubSpot, Inc. in any way.

Between us we've sat on the buying side of hundreds of CRM contracts while working at different marketing agencies. HubSpot most often — but also Salesforce, Klaviyo, GoHighLevel and Pipedrive. We've seen what gets quoted, what gets conceded, and what quietly goes unused for two years.

Our honest read: for most mid-market teams, HubSpot is the strongest of the platforms we've worked with. It's also the one buyers most consistently overbuy.

Buying only what you'll use

The largest waste on a typical HubSpot invoice isn't the rate — it's capability the team never switches on. Enterprise bought where Professional would do. Seats for people who only need to read. A contact tier sized for a list that includes 3,000 records nobody will ever email.

We map hubs, tiers, seats and contact bands to the way your business actually runs today, and tell you what to defer.

The onboarding fee nobody warns you about

You've just agreed to spend five figures a year on software. Then, at the very end of the process, comes a separate one-time charge for the privilege of being shown how to use it — mandatory, non-refundable for direct buyers, and payable whether or not you ever book the sessions.

It's the line item buyers resent most, and the one they find out about last.

  • Marketing Hub Pro $3,000
  • Marketing Hub Enterprise $7,000
  • Sales or Service Hub Pro $1,500
  • Sales or Service Hub Enterprise $3,500

Terms, timing and leverage

Annual commitment, upfront payment, contract length, renewal date and where you land in HubSpot's fiscal quarter all move the final number. So does knowing which individual features are gated at which tier — one capability sitting one rung up is the most expensive $200 a month most teams ever spend.

We know where those lines fall and when to push. So do the agencies we collaborate with — they price and scope this every week, and they'll tell you the same thing we do.

The difference it makes

Same HubSpot. Different scope, different invoice.

An illustrative first-year comparison for a 12-person team buying Marketing Hub Professional and Sales Hub Professional with an 8,000-record database.

Bought as typically quoted$27,180
Right-sized, partner-delivered onboarding$17,280
$9,900 kept in your budget — 36% of year one

How the two columns are built. As quoted: Marketing Hub Professional at $890/mo with the contact tier raised to cover 8,000 records (+$500/mo), plus 5 Sales Hub Professional seats at $100/mo — $1,890/mo × 12 = $22,680 — plus HubSpot's mandatory onboarding fees of $3,000 (Marketing Pro) and $1,500 (Sales Pro).

Right-sized: 3,000 records reclassified as non-marketing contacts, dropping to one contact block (+$250/mo); 3 paid Sales Pro seats with 2 stakeholders moved to view-only — $1,440/mo × 12 = $17,280 — with onboarding delivered by a certified partner agency rather than purchased from HubSpot.

Figures reflect HubSpot's publicly listed 2026 rates and are for illustration only. Your quote will differ. Onboarding-fee treatment is not guaranteed and depends on eligibility, deal size and the agency's own decision.

How it works

From quiz to a negotiation brief in three steps

Built for the two weeks between your first HubSpot demo and your signature. No sales call required at any point — you can take the estimate into your own rep conversation and stop there.

Six questions. No lookups, no spreadsheet.

Which parts of your business you want in HubSpot, roughly how big your list is, how many people will genuinely log in, and when you need to decide. If a question makes you go and find a document, we've written it wrong.

Questions

Before you ask

Are you a HubSpot partner?

No. We are not a HubSpot Solutions Partner. We are not a HubSpot reseller, affiliate or certified provider. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by HubSpot, Inc., and nothing on this page is authorised by HubSpot.

We're an independent group of marketers and RevOps operators who have bought and implemented HubSpot for clients while working at various marketing agencies. Our knowledge comes from being on the buying side repeatedly — not from a badge.

Then how do you make money?

The quiz and the estimate are free, and we don't charge you for them.

If you choose to be introduced to one of the certified partner agencies we collaborate with, and you go on to work with them, we may receive a referral fee from that agency. It is paid by the agency, not by you, and it does not change your price.

We'd rather say that plainly than have you find out later. If you'd prefer to take your estimate and negotiate alone, that's a perfectly good outcome and costs you nothing.

Can you guarantee my onboarding fee will be waived?

No, and be sceptical of anyone who does. Some certified partner agencies deliver onboarding themselves in place of HubSpot's standard fee, and some absorb the cost entirely to win a client. That's the agency's own commercial decision, and it depends on your deal size, tier and timing.

What we can do is tell you whether your situation matches the pattern. The quiz is built around exactly that question, so you'll know where you stand the moment you finish it — not after three calls.

Is this official HubSpot pricing?

No. Every figure on this page is either HubSpot's own publicly listed rate or our illustrative modelling of it. Only HubSpot can quote you. Prices, tiers and fees change — always confirm current numbers with HubSpot directly before signing anything.

Isn't the real saving just a discount on the rate?

That's the smaller half of it. In our experience the bigger loss is money spent on a plan the team never grows into — Enterprise bought for two Enterprise features, seats issued to people who only read reports, a contact tier sized to a list that's mostly dormant records.

An underused CRM costs twice: once on the invoice, and again in the adoption problem it creates. We scope for what your business needs at its current stage, so the tool gets used and the number stays defensible at renewal.

Which platforms do you actually know?

HubSpot is where most of our collective experience sits. Beyond it, our group has bought, negotiated or implemented Salesforce, Klaviyo, GoHighLevel, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, ActiveCampaign, Marketo, Braze, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Close, Attio, Keap, Freshsales and monday CRM.

We're happy to tell you when HubSpot isn't the right answer for your stage. Sometimes it isn't.

We already use HubSpot. Is this still useful?

Yes, but the mechanics are different — and you should know that before you start.

Onboarding is a one-time fee charged on your first purchase. At renewal there is no onboarding fee left to waive, so that lever is gone. Anyone telling an existing customer they can get it removed is selling you something that doesn't exist.

What replaces it is usually worth more anyway. Renewal is where overbuying has had a year to compound: seats issued to people who never logged in, a contact tier ratcheted up after one campaign and never brought back down, a hub bought for a project that ended in March. We run the same scoping pass against what you're actually using and show you what to cut before you re-sign.

If a partner introduction makes sense here, it's a different kind of agency — one that helps you either genuinely use the features you're already paying for, or strip out the ones you aren't. Both directions save money. The second one saves it on the invoice; the first one stops the subscription from being waste.

You're new. There are no case studies here. Why should we trust you?

Fair question, and we'd rather answer it than dress it up. CRMdiscount.ai launched this year. We're working with our first 25 companies right now, and you'd be one of them. The operators behind it have been doing this work for years inside agencies — but we're not going to borrow credibility by implying past agency clients endorsed this venture, because they haven't.

We also have no refund policy, for the simple reason that there's nothing to refund. You don't pay us. There's no contract to sign with us, no card to enter, and no commitment at any point.

So judge us on what's checkable instead: every fee on this page is HubSpot's own published rate, the arithmetic in our comparison is printed in full so you can verify it line by line, and we've told you exactly who pays us and how much you're worth to them. If the reasoning doesn't hold up, you'll know inside two minutes — and you'll have lost two minutes.
